The Macclesfield & Wilmslow Business Awards have been re-named as the North East Cheshire Business Awards. And with the name change comes a new logo and brand identity.

Sue Bowden from Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce and chair of the awards committee, comments: “As an awards committee we felt that the Macclesfield & Wilmslow Business Awards was too narrow as we are wanting to generate entries from North East Cheshire. So we decided to build on three hugely successful years and change the name and brand identity for 2014.”

Award entries are welcomed from towns and villages across the region including Knutsford, Chelford, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Styal, Handforth, Woodford, Poynton, Adlington, Macclesfield, Bollington, Rushton Spencer, Gawsworth and Siddington.

The sponsors and partners confirmed to date for the 2014 awards include Orbit Developments, Thorneycroft Solicitors, R A Smart, Macclesfield Express and Wilmslow Express, Cheshire’s Silk 106.9, Harts Accountants, Williams&Crosby, Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce, KAT UK, Plastic Card Services and Sphere Printers.

The awards will open for entries in May 2014 and entry forms will be available via the website. So far for 2014 the award categories will include Business of the Year Turnover over £5 million, Business of the Year Turnover £1 million to £5 million, Business of the Year Turnover up to £1 million, Innovation & Design, Excellence in Customer Service, Community Award, CSR Award, Team of the Year and Best Design/Creative Award.

A few opportunities for organisations and businesses interested in sponsorship packages remain and the awards team is keen to talk to anyone that would like to get involved. For further information please email Sue Bowden.
